Dear Friends,

Our country, as it always has been, is on a remarkable journey. Our population is growing, and the innovation and energy of the American people continues to drive us and make this such a special place to live, work and play.

Yet for all of our promise and all of our successes, somewhere along this journey, I fear that we have lost our way. We have become disconnected from the body that governs us on the local, state, and national levels. It is my belief that our governing body has not invested enough into the people of our nation. As our country wages two wars and engage in politics as usual, the needs of the middle class and poor have fallen on deaf ears. As elected officials, there are  inseparable roles of leadership and advocation for the people that's being represented. In our country more people are transitioning from the middle class to being in poverty.

I am establishing People Over Politics to be a voice for those that are going unheard. Too often our representatives adhere to the wishes of those that fund their campaigns moreso than the people that they represent. We can bring forward positive change throughout our nation if we work to integrate the best interest of the people with effective and responsible governance. We can restore responsible and responsive leadership that respects the people. We can begin to promote collaborative partnerships between governing bodies and existing agencies that will improve the quality of life for all Americans.
